A politician

A politician pursues, like everyone else, his own goals, with the particularity that he hides, more or less consciously, this reality behind the mask of “public good”.
How naive! They must be very superficial to ignore this fact so apparent to anyone with the proper sensibility.
If the politician is aware of his mask, he will be a great politician; he will get enough power to impose his decisions. But, on the other hand, perhaps he is Machiavellian, and thus he will have some chance of becoming an outstanding politician.
Nothing great originates from greatness but rather from what is most despised by the prejudices and lack of self-scrutiny of the majority.
When a politician is unaware of the mechanism by which his actions are defined, that is to say, that he falsifies his interest by passing it off as the common interest, the more evident it is for the people to whom he intends to represent this falsity of his action and speech, and therefore the less successful he will be as a politician.
The clearer his awareness of his falsehood, the more hypocritical he is and the more successful he will be. Once he has reached power, he will now be able to decide the direction of his actions and perhaps channel the community’s interest through him, but only from now on, after he has settled at the height of his power.
Those who dedicate themselves to working for the “common good”, those who sacrifice themselves, may be extraordinary beings who are ashamed of being so. For this reason, they become tools for the majority to redeem themselves.
We see that the conditioning of our education prevents us from seeing in ourselves aspects of existence that have been negatively valued (for example, selfishness, deceit, desire, etc.); it leads us towards failure, be it in the form of weakness, or the opposite, as criminality.
The “good people” deceive themselves.

Another characteristic of a politician is his instinct to gauge loyalties. In all interactions with others, he will formulate tests to verify, establish, reaffirm, prove and estimate fidelities. His infallibility in this talent will determine his chances of success.
